Ola Driver held for dumping customer midway in Bangalore

Bengaluru police have arrested and released the can driver who was accused of allegedly abandoning a women passenger when she demanded he take a different route in the early hours of the day.

The incident took place on Monday. The victim had taken a cab from the Kempegowda International Airport at 3:15 am when she noticed that the cab driver had taken a different route, one which was not familiar to her. Instead of taking the NH-44 route, the driver took the BK Halli Bagalur road. The passenger pressed the emergency button and also demanded to stop the car and talk to the driver’s supervisor. Following this incident, the cab driver abandoned her midway in an isolated area at around 3:30 am. The victim got a ride with a friend who was leaving for the airport. She also took filed a complaint With the police against the driver.

Bheemshankar S. Guled, DCP (north-east) said that they had arrested Sivashankar and have also released him on bail. He has been booked under Section 336 of IPC for an act endangering the personal safety or life of others.

The cab service was in news last month too when a Kolkata model was murdered in Bangalore by her ola cab driver.
