Rejected Cartoons: 6 Rejected people on a secret mission

Rejected Cartoons is a band formed in Kolkata, now based in Mumbai. They do not like to stick to one form of music as each member brings their own set of influences and musical backgrounds to the table. The band is multilingual and performs in English, Hindi and other regional languages such as Urdu, Arabic, Nepali, etc. Apart from gigs in popular venues, they also perform at corporate gigs in & around Mumbai.

They are heavily influenced by artists like Mumford&Sons, Hooverphonic, Damien Rice, Aurora, Alt-J, Glass Animals, Sigur Rós, Vishal Bhardwaj, A.R. Rahman, Prateek Kuhad, Bipul Chhetri, Aswekeepsearching etc. and incorporate a lot of folk & classical instruments like mandolin, dotara, mandira, ukulele, frame drum, sitar etc. in their music.

They featured on an episode of renowned Kolkata based international Independent music platform Friday Night Originals for their original ‘Bless Me Fair’ (Video Below)

The band consists of 6-members, each with its own flair and set the stage on fire. The members are:

  • Shashank Vishwakarma – Vocals, Guitar
  • Sankalan Samaddar – Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin
  • Tapasi Bhattacharya – Vocals, Ukelele, Dotara, Percussions
  • Rohit Ganesh – Vocals, Keyboard
  • Anirban Roy- Bass
  • Prateek Kulgod – Drums, Percussions
