Many new coming actors are not getting the expected stratospheric rise, which everyone expects. To keep themselves active in the industry, they are doing short films, documentaries, giving workshops, etc.

Nowadays, nearly every profession is flooded with talents. Same is happening with the film industry. Being talented is not enough. One needs to be continuously in contention to grab every opportunity available. 

Due to this, nice and talented actors, many with NSD degrees, are doing documentaries, short films, web series, giving orientation, workshops, etc. These are not only a viable money making option, but also hone their acting skills to deliver better.
