The meeting which eagerly awaits the decisions on the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula , held on Friday 27th April. The two Korean leaders met for settling peace and harmony among the two neighbouring nations. Mr.Kim Jong Un became the first North Korean leader to step on their southern counterpart after the 1950-1953 Korean war when he met the South Korean President Moon Jae-in at the border village of Panmunjom.
Both were spotted shaking hands and smiling wide on greeting each other soon after Kim crossed the ankle high concrete slab that forms the demarcation line at Panmunjom. Mr. Kim then took Moon’s hand and led him back to North where they posed for a ceremonial photograph. Mr. Moon’s parents were North Korean refugees during the Korea war.
After meeting at the borderline, both went to the Peace house, the venue of the summit following an honour guard.
“A new history starts now. An age of peace, from the starting point of history,” Mr. Kim wrote in Korean in a guest book in the South’s Peace House before talks began.
During a private meeting in the morning, Mr. Kim told Mr. Moon he came to the summit to end the history of conflict and joked he was sorry for waking Mr. Moon up with his early morning missile tests, a senior presidential official said.
The two leaders’ close body language was also on display. They held each other’s hands and raised them into the air and hugged each other after signing their names on what they called the Panmunjom Declaration, a joint statement following their summit. They also stood at a podium together outside the Peace House and jointly announced the deal in front of officials and pool reporters.
Despite these two super nations, the conclusion of the summit is also early in vigilance by the U.S , China and Russia. Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump are said to meet on late May or June. Mr. Pompeo, who currently is CIA director, met Mr. Kim and had a conversation with him for more than an hour, that was more than a hello ,said Mr. Trump.
