Reviving Back!
As the year nears to an end, the rapper has released his ninth album –
Revival. His last album release was The Marshall Mathers LP 2 released
back in November 2013. The album title was revealed during the 2013
MTV Video Music Awards on August 25, 2013, alongside a preview of
the lead single Berzerk, which subsequently peaked at number 3 on the
US Billboard Hot 100. The American Rapper is known for many things
among his fans – of being an eminent rapper, a controversial celebrity
and much more. He has by far shocked us while surfacing for some
eccentric news, although never has slipped out of the popularity. As far
as his awards are concerned, he had garnered many feathers to his cap
like – the Academy Awards (USA), Grammy Awards, ASCAP Film and
Television Music Awards, and many more.
The album runs 19 tracks long, and it boasts a list of guests including
Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, P!NK Alicia Keys, Skylar Grey, X Ambassadors,
Kehlani, and PHresher, but finds Eminem in the eye of the storm
throughout, touching on everything from race to familial matters.
The albums lead single, Walk on Water featuring Beyoncé, was
released on November 10, 2017. Untouchable was released as a
promotional single on December 8, a week prior to the albums release.
On December 14, River featuring Ed Sheeran, was revealed to be the
albums second official single, with a release date yet to be determined.
Revival was leaked online on December 13, 2017, two days before the
albums release date.
While his former albums were hugely adored by his fans had multiple
theme variants, the latest release has lyrics more inclined towards
politics – the album clearly shows his contemplation towards politics,
racial disparity, and his own morality. Thus, showing the sensibility and
maturity of a 45-year- old towards his living, and various issues
surrounding him. In an interview with NPRs Michel Martin, he was
found saying what triggered him to chose the cover art of his album
was to see how the first citizen of their nation had failed the
governance by failing to come in terms with the citizens of the U.S and
the government itself. He has mentioned in the same interview that the
cover art of the album has featured himself in a state of frustration,
holding his head down, with a translucent American flag. In the
interview he cleared his mind about helping people, who haven’t
figured out yet the state of the governance the U.S is facing right now,
meanwhile clearing his own stand about this issue. You can check the
