Dahi wali Bhindi is an excellent dish for pregnant ladies. Okra or ‘Bhindi’ is low in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. High in dietary fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, thiamin, vitamin B6, folate, calcium, magnesium,phosphorus, potassium, manganese, protein, riboflavin, niacin iron, zinc and copper. It helps to reduce the neural tube defects in a newborn baby.Â
Ingredients
- Bhindi (chopped slice wise)
- Mustard Oil (3-4 teaspoon)
- Asafoetida (1 pinch)
- Cumin (1/2 Table spoon)
- Sauf (1/2 Table spoon)
- Magril (1/2 Table spoon)
- Garlic & Green chilli ( paste 1 Table spoon )
- Onion (1 chopped)
- Red chilli power (optional)
- Turmeric (1/2 Table spoon)
- Salt (as per test)
- Tomato( 1-paste form)
- Sabaji Masala (1 Table spoon)
- Fresh Dhai or Butter MilkÂ
ProcedureÂ
- First of all, chop the bhindi (slice wise) and fry till it is cooked and keep it aside.
- Take a big kadhai and add oil. After heating the oil, add cumin seed, Asafoetida, Magril, Sof, chopped onion, Garlic and Ginger paste, tomato paste sauté, Sabji Masala and salt.
- Saute for a minute and then add fried bhindi. Saute well till the oil separates.
- Then turn off the burner and add butter milk or curd. Mix them well and cover for 5 minutes.Â
- Your Dish is ready to be served.Â
