Bihar And Jharkhand Death Increases To 51

Apart from car accidents which are the towering reason of death in many countries, the lightning during rainy reason is another. The state of Bihar and Jharkhand have witnessed 51 deaths where 9 others were severely injured due to lightning bolts says the state police on Wednesday.

Many people have suffered dead injuries having been struck by lightning at broad daylight. The highest number of deaths was reported from Jamui in Bihar with eight death. Aurangabad with seven, Bhagalpur, Banka and East Champaran (four each), Rohtas (three), Nawada, Nalanda and Katihar (two each) and Munger, Arwal and Gaya (one each) says the state Disaster Management department.

Each deceased person will be paid with Ex-gratia by the state in keeping with the government policy, while proper treatment will be ensured for the injured.

A similar situation was spotted in Jharkhand where two persons were injured when they were returning back from a pond after a bath. They stood under a road bridge when lightning struck them.

Every year people are dying due to natural calamity, a change is therefore needed to be established at the ground root level.
