India as a profound religious and spiritual nation with many of profoundly corrupted babas and the government’s minor attention on the issue. We, as a person of normal basic nature believe in our Gods according to our own wishes but our God seems to be in news for all the wrong reasons these days. The self claimed gurus who claims themselves as messengers of God misrepresents God and do all the wrong deeds in the name of belief and religion. From frauds to sexual abuse, from murder to rape and for everything that can never define God, the are active in all over the country.
But why do we as an informed citizen of the country believe in such Godmens who just redefine the word “loot” in the society. Why these babas have plenty of followers even after being imprisoned. Are we as an educated society use less of our brains that we believe in them and some stupid followers even fight for such babas. And why the “the Hindutva party” of the nation as RSS (Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh) claiming to protect the Hindus from the evil doesn’t takes any action in protecting them from such fraud gurus scattered around in the name of “Dharma”.
The major case that unfolded in 2014 was when the country witnessed a standoff between the police and an ‘army’ of devout followers outside Sant Rampal’s Ashram in Haryana. Rampal who faced contempt of court, murder and attempt to murder cases in various courts and has skipped hearings for 42 times.
Asharam Bapu is someone we all know about, few of the “blind” followers are still with him even when he has been found guilty. Asharam was accused of sexually abusing a 16 year-old girl at his Jodhpur ashram even as her mother was waiting outside. The Godman claimed he was innocent and regards the minor as his “daughter”. Later he and his son were also investigated for an alleged 700 acre land grabbing case and murder charges.
Popular for his spiritual discourse and meditation programmes, Swami Nithyananda was named as one of the 100 spiritiually influential living people in the world by Watkins’ Mind Body Spirit magazine. Nithyanand landed in controversy after a purported video footage showing him in a compromising position with an actress was telecasted. Gurmeet Ram Rahim is one of the most controversial guru with his “unique” acting skills and a luxury lifestyle. The Dera Sacha Sauda was in news recently as he has been imprisoned for the rape and murder case. The Punjab and Haryana
high court found him guily of such cases. Both the places suffered violent between the devotees and the police. His ashram in Sirsa was found extra luxurious. With an extravagant lifestyle, Ram Rahim succedded in cheating people with full of his potential.
