Liquor baron Vijay Mallya, is wanted in India for defaulting on loans worth Rs 9,000 crore. He is all set to marry for the third time. Mallya will be marrying a former Kingfisher Airlines air-hostess Pinky Lalwani.

Pinky Lalwani lives with him at his mansion in Hertfordshire, about an hour and a half from London. Vijay Mallya and Pinky Lalwani were recently spotted together to celebrate the third anniversary of their relationship. The two are almost inseparable at public events.  She has also accompanied Mallya on his trips to London for extradition hearings in the Westminster Magistrates Court.
Third marriage for Mallya
The absconding businessman married former Air India air hostess Sameera Tyabjee in 1986. The marriage however lasted only for a year. In 1993, he married Rekha Mallya, whom he had known since childhood. Mallya has three children from his two marriages – Siddharth, Leanna and Tanya.
National Fugitive
The Delhi court had on January 4 declared Mallya a proclaimed offender for evading summons in a FERA violation case. They noted that he failed to appear before it despite repeated summonses. It had on April 12 last year issued an open-ended non-bailable warrant against the liquor baron. Unlike a non-bailable warrant, an ‘open-ended NBW’ does not carry a time limit for execution.
On November 4, 2016, while issuing non-bailable warrant against Mallya, the court had observed he had no inclination to return and had scant regard for the law of the land. On July 9, the court had cancelled the exemption from personal appearance granted to Mallya on an application of the ED and directed him to appear before it on September 9.
Earlier this week, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) began attaching the properties of liquaor baron Vijay Mallya, under Section 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Section 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code mandates attachment of the property of an absconder.
Conclusion
It is quite evident that Mallya is a known offender and fugitive. He had been charged for not repaying the loan of Rs.9,000 crores. He has no intention to repay it either. We know everything about him. Where he is living, with whom, his relationship status, anniversary date, his next marriage date and venue (in future). Yet we are not able to do anything. That is the biggest and the darkest irony.
