S Dhami Becomes The First Woman IAF Wing Commander In India

S Dhami an Indian Air Force’s Wing Commander becomes the first woman Flight Commander of a Flying unit. She took over as a Flight Commander of a Chetak helicopter unit Hindon airbase.

She has been flying choppers and is the permanent commission officer of the flying branch in the Air Force. She is number two in the unit after the commanding officer.

She is a step closure to moving towards elevating herself towards women officers commanding units and formations in the service.
