Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visits Houston, United States ahead of his maga “Howdy Modi”. He met the delegates of Kashmiri Pandits on his sixth day at the States. The delegates have extended their heartfelt support to President Modi for abrogating article 370. They showered their heartfelt gratitude for the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status thus making it a part of the country.
They also supported the steps initiated by the Modi government in empowering the valley. The Prime Minister Office (PMO) tweeted- “ In Houston, a delegation of the Kashmiri Pandit community met the Prime Minister. They unequivocally supported the steps being taken for the progress of India and the empowerment of every Indian.”
Surinder Kaul, a representative of the Kashmiri Pandits told reporters-“ We thanked him on behalf of the 700,000 Kashmiri Pandits all over the globe for such a historic decision. We assured him that our community will work with the government to fulfill your dream for a Kashmir which is peaceful, full of growth where people are all happy.”
The Community of Kashmiri Pandits has requested PM Modi to establish law under the Ministry of Home Affairs. This law is needed to bring together the community leaders, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders to help in the development of a plan to repatriate Kashmiri Pandits to the region.
