The Himachal Pradesh polls are out with the name of Vikramaditya Singh as the Congress
nominee from Shimla Rural. He is the son of Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh. The
Congress party has announced the names of their candidates for the remaining 9 seats, a day
before the filing of nomination was ended. They have decided to follow the ‘One family, one
ticket’ formula by choosing Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress’s president Vikramaditya from
the prestigious Shimla Rural constituency. It was earlier held by his father. State Minister Kaul
Singh Thakur’s daughter Champa Thakur also got a final ticket from Mandi.
One of the reasons behind delaying the declaration of the names of candidates was taking the
‘One family, one ticket’ formula seriously, for the seats of Shimla and Mandi, said the sources.
The party released its second list of seven candidates, withholding the names of its nominees
for just two seats of Shimla rural and Mandi. These nominations are final and here is the list of Candidates of Congress.
