In the hustle-bustle of Mumbai’s fast-running life, railway platforms are a common sight and a place where people of Mumbai meets.
Recently Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) station has been listed amongst the top 10 amazing stations in the world by a Travel website, Wonders list. It is one of the crowded stations which connects three railway lines that run across the city of Mumbai. The station in Mumbai is simply not just a regular station but is popular for its grand light decoration and light shows.
The Central Railway took to twitter to express their joy. They tweeted- “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus station, an architectural marvel, is in the top 10 amazing stations in the world. The iconic station building is the only station in the #worldheritage list.
The station has been included in the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. It was built by Frederick William Stevens in the year 1888 in order to commemorate 50 years of Queen Victoria’s crowning. It is now 131- year-old.
