Bhadrakali Temple is one of the places that gives Warangal a different feel from its forts and stone monuments. The temple sits on a hillock beside Bhadrakali Lake, between Warangal and Hanamkonda.
The Telangana Tourism department dates the temple’s history to around the 7th century and notes its association with Chalukya-era architecture.

What makes this place different?
Permalink to “What makes this place different?”It is the combination of the temple, hillock and lake. You don’t feel like you are visiting an isolated monument. The surroundings are part of the experience.
What should you see?
Permalink to “What should you see?”The main deity is the obvious focus, but take some time to look at the temple structure and stone work too. If you are interested in local history, the site has a lot more to offer than a quick darshan.
Don’t skip the lake
Permalink to “Don’t skip the lake”If the weather is comfortable, spend some time around Bhadrakali Lake after visiting the temple. It gives you a slower break before moving to the next place.
What can you combine with it?
Permalink to “What can you combine with it?”A good half-day plan can include Bhadrakali Temple → lake → Thousand Pillar Temple → Warangal Fort.
That route gives you a mix of religious, architectural and historical places without making the day unnecessarily complicated.
A small tip for visitors
