SAAM is a Hip-Hop track, It is a take on the education system of India that creates stereotypes & hypocrites of the society. This track takes you through the struggles and bullies a kid has to face, after leaving his hometown for better education. Both shady II & NSN have been a victim of all these.

This track was shot in Behtul and recorded in Mumbai, is about to make its entry in your hip-hop playlist in a few days.

The artist says:

(Shady II)

This song is about schools and education system in India. I am from Siddharth Nagar birth place of lord Buddha. When I was a kid, we used to live in Sohrathgarh, a small town. There were no good schools around. I had to leave home with my bother to attend good school. When we grew we had to leave Siddharth Nagar as it had no good high schools either. Even after that as it didn’t have any colleges. So the question that hits me is why we do as a student or resident of a place have to leave the place for better opportunities, why our town didn’t have schools? There are children like me who are not able to cope up with the deal of being far away from home & family or are not financially strong enough to move out from their city for opportunities. Who is going to take the responsibility of providing schools and opportunities?

Isn’t it the government?

And even if we had one what are the educational standards now a day?

Every day I see cases of student committing crimes and influenced by bad company, rage, molestation, homicide. You’ll come across such stories every now and then.

All of these situations makes me wonder. What are they teaching and what are students learning?

When I was in school my teacher hit me so bad on my palm that I had a blood clot in my finger. That incident was lodged in my mind and here I am telling my story through hip hop.

‘They hit us hard with the sticks on the palms, tryna teach about peace and love like this, what an irony’

What would the student learn?

There’s more to come!!

(NSN)

In a way this song is a story of my childhood the way I have seen things around me in my village the way I grew up in my village. I am also talking about my psychological, societal, development specifically my education friends and family. I have seen and narrated the story through the eyes of a farmer’s child and his relation with his friends and family, I could relate to a farmers child is because my father was one. I have attended both government and private schools, seen the differences between them, and this is what I came up with through the lyrics of my rap. I am also talking about the hardships that I came across while growing up in a village I only considered them as a problem when I moved to a city. I have also talked about my evolution from village to Bombay, and that is what I want to remind myself that’s what made me make the hook of it.

Politics is the only field where fake degrees can lead you to the post of Human Resource Development minister, ironically. In other fields, fake degree can lead to banishment and jail-time as well.

Former HRD minister Smriti Irani revealed in her poll affidavit that she was not a graduate. However, in her affidavit for 2014 polls, Irani had reportedly said that she had graduated from Delhi University’s School of Open Learning with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1994. Opposition found a weak spot and they kept attacking BJP over her fake degree.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley came to her defence and said the academic credentials of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, too, were the subject of debate. He said that Rahul Gandhi completed his MPhil without completing his post-graduation.

“One day the focus (of Congress campaign) would be on the BJP candidate’s educational qualification, fully forgetting that a public audit of Rahul Gandhi’s academic credentials may leave a lot to be answered. After all, he got an MPhil without a Master’s degree,” Jaitley said in a Facebook blog titled ‘India’s Opposition is on a Rent a Cause Campaign’.

In 2009, amid a row over Gandhi’s foreign degrees, the University of Cambridge had said the Congress leader was a student of Trinity College and was awarded an M.Phil in Development Studies in 1995.

Fake degree for politicians controversy is not new. Smriti Irani and Rahul Gandhi are not the only high profile politicians surrounded by this controversy. Our own PM Modi was allegedly having a fake degree in ‘Entire Political Science’ from Delhi University. There are numerous discrepancies in the records.

The point is that the politicians are setting a very notorious image in the youth of our nation. This fake degree scandal would definitely bring international shame to our country. What can one expect in that country where the law-makers are not following their own laws? Think about it.

It all started with Yogi Adityanath’s statement, terming Indian Forces as ‘Modi Ji Ki Sena’. A letter was circulated which had 156 servicemen signatories, asking the President to stop the using Armed forces for political benefits. Later found that many of the signatories didn’t give their respective consent. Two ex-chiefs were among many servicemen who denied writing the letter. They termed it as the ‘manifestation of the fake news’.

General SF Rodrigues who is listed as the first signatory to the letter called it a “classic manifestation of fake news” and denied any role in the letter. He said that he had been apolitical throughout his career and still firmly believes in that.

“All my life, we have been apolitical. After 42 years as an officer, it is a little late to change,” he said, according to news agency ANI. General Rodrigues, who was the army chief between 1990 and 1993, said he had always put the country first and wasn’t aware who had circulated the letter.

Former air chief NC Suri said a letter had been circulating on email and WhatsApp. “To put an end to it, I wrote that armed forces are apolitical and support the politically-elected government,” he said, according to news agency ANI.

“And no, my consent has not been taken for any such letter. I don’t agree with whatever has been written in that letter. We have been misquoted,” he added. Former Army Vice Chief Lt General ML Naidu said his consent hadn’t been taken for any such letter.

“No, my consent has not been taken for any such letter and neither have I written any such letter,” said former Army Vice Chief Lt General ML Naidu told ANI.

Major General Harsha Kakkar, who is 31st on the list of armed forces veterans who purportedly wrote the letter to President, however, said, “Yes, I had given my consent for being a signatory to the letter. I had given my consent only after knowing the contents of it.”

Earlier today, the Congress party shared a copy of the letter on its Twitter account and said, “Modi may try to use soldiers for votes, but it’s clear that soldiers stand with India and not the BJP. 156 Veterans of the Indian Armed Forces including 8 former Chiefs of Staff write to the President of India urging him to act against Modi for trying to use soldiers for votes.”

“The apolitical and secular nature of India’s Armed Forces has been an article of faith for every soldier, sailor, and airman,” the purported letter addressed to President Ram Nath Kovind says.

Referring to the denials from the two former services chiefs, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said it is worrying that fake letters are being circulated by vested groups. “It is condemnable,” she said.

An official in President Kovind’s office also denied that they had received the letter, according to ANI.

The Election Commission had earlier advised political parties not to use photographs of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who shot down a Pakistan Air Force F-16 fighter during an aerial dogfight on February 27 or use other military action in their election campaign. Union Minister and former Army Chief General VK Singh too had criticized those using the reference to Indian armed forces as ‘Modi Ji Ki Sena’ as ‘traitors’. Though just after few days, his party’s stalwart and UP CM Yogi Adityanath had referred to the armed forces as ‘Modi Ji Ki Sena’.

In 2014, Modi’s BJP strongly campaigned for the cleaning of the river Ganga. When they ascend to the power, they allocated huge funds for the cleaning of Ganga. Namami Gange was the name given to the project. It was an utter failure. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), only one out of 39 locations through which the Ganga river flows had clean water in the post-monsoon period this year. In the recent revelation, an RTI by The Wire states that there has not been even a single meeting of the National Ganga Council (NGC) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi thus far. Is our government really serious about Ganga?

The NGC was formed in October 2016. Its purpose is to preserve, protect and manage the Ganga river waters. On October 7, 2016, a notification issued by the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation stated that the NGC should hold one or more meetings every year, at its discretion.

However, information obtained from the National Clean Ganga Mission, an organisation under the water ministry, has revealed that more than two years since its formation, the NGC has not held a single meeting. The NGC is perhaps the largest committee overseeing work being done towards cleaning the Ganga.

With the formation of the NGC, the National Ganga River Basin Authority (NGRBA) was dissolved. The functioning of the NGRBA was similar to the NGC, and the prime minister was the chairman of the NGRBA as well.

The NGRBA was formed after the Congress-led UPA government came to power in 2009. Its first meeting was held on October 5, 2009, under the chairmanship of then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

From 2009 to 2012, there were three meetings of the NGRBA which Manmohan Singh presided over. After this, there were three meetings between 2014 and 2016, out of which two meetings were presided over by then water minister Uma Bharti. The March 26, 2015 meeting of the Authority was chaired by Modi.

Modi ji used to blame the previous governments about the ill health of the river. (Read here) They might be as Ganga wasn’t polluted in his tenure. But the point is that he promised people and he failed to deliver. Results though do not matter but zero efforts wasn’t expected.

The condition of Ganga is pathetic. Despite this, the committee is not meeting once. The government is just ‘allocating funds’ in order to show people that they care. Not holding a single meeting, hardly any improvement in the pollution level tells a totally different story. And that story is not what our Prime Minister wants us to know.

Human encroachment has already caused an irreparable harm to the nature. Many species in the past has become extinct due to poaching, encroachment, loss of habitat, hunting for body parts, etc. Nearly 1,700 species of amphibians, birds and mammals are likely to lose their natural habitats and face greater extinction risk by 2070 due to increased human land use.

A new study has revealed that in nearly 5 decades since 1970, 60% of mammals, birds, fish and reptile species were wiped out from the face of out planet, due to human activity. A study by Ecologists at Yale University has warned that in the next 50 years 886 species of amphibians, 436 birds and 376 mammals could go extinct due to habitat loss.

The saddest part is that humans are well aware of this approaching danger. Still, they are taking actions. In fact, recently China reversed 25-year ban on Rhino and Tiger Parts. Just see yourself what we should do and what we are doing. Save environment before it becomes late.

Police seized 1000 kg of explosive substances were seized from a vehicle in Chitpur area of Kolkata. Such a huge quantity of explosives could have levelled a large area in future.

Police officers were acting on a tip-off. They intercepted police a goods vehicle near Tala bridge on the BT Road in the early hours of Saturday. It contained 27 gunny bags containing about 1,000 kg of potassium nitrate which they seized. Two persons – the driver and his helper have been arrested. Potassium Nitrate is used in making explosives.

“The vehicle was coming from Odisha and was heading towards North 24 Parganas district. We have arrested the driver and the helper of the goods vehicle. We are interrogating the duo and trying to find out more details from them,” police officer said.

Intercepting and seizing such huge amount of explosives is quite significant. This is much like intercepting a plot for future terrorist activity.

The 110 cc, Honda Activa is the best-selling model in HMSI’s scooter portfolio, which has several engine options and variants including the Honda Activa-i, Honda Activa 125 and the Honda Activa 5G.

In another, ‘expected’ decision, the government plans to replace all traditional boards with digital boards. They plan to replace seven lakh boards within three years. A noble cause but forgot to allocate any funds.

HRD minister Prakash Javadekar rolled out the scheme to equip five lakh classrooms of the higher secondary and senior secondary schools (classes IX to XII) of the government schools as well as two lakh classrooms of the public-funded higher education institutes.
While the ministry aims to cover nearly 1.5 lakh secondary and senior secondary schools under the scheme by 2022, the university grants commission (UGC) has proposed to cover 300 universities and 10,000 colleges under the scheme in three years, starting from 2019.
India has nearly 15 lakh schools across the country and close to 50,000 higher education institutions. About 10% of the schools and higher education institutions are already equipped with digital boards.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley rolled the scheme in the last budget under ‘Operation Digital Board’ scheme. This scheme requires fund of 7000-10000 crores. The Finance Minister didn’t allocate or planned any funds.

When asked about the funds, Javadekar said not to worry and would soon plan the scheme properly. It is assumed that the funds could be made available for implementation of the ‘operation digital board’ in schools from Rs 36472.40 crore allocated to the school education department on the head of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).

The pedagogical improvement is the need of the hour. The problem is that the government again haphazardly revealed the scheme without planning from where these funds will come. This makes the scheme just an inflated bloat of election goodies.

The mastermind behind Pulwama attack died along with 2 other terrorists in an encounter which also took the lives of our four brave soldiers. The image regulated in the media is Photoshopped. Let’s know how.

The image was basically of a commando in a black uniform. The maker of the image cleverly fitted the head in this image. The left side of the arm is abnormally stuffed into the uniform. Besides, the uniform also has a name badge. The terrorist is also wearing a watch. He is also holding a walkie-talkie.

Walkie-talkie could be excused as terrorists have become technologically advanced due to proper funding from Pakistan. He has a name tag. Which terrorists’ organisation issue name badges to its terrorists? They always want to keep them under cover. Now coming to arms. Since the maker found a suitable head and body, the original torso was not convincing due to angle and face to body ratio. So, they inserted the left arm abnormally into the image in order to look convincing. The maker tried it’s best to make the image look intimidating.

In short, the image editor was not professional. He was careless. Conspirators, hire someone better next time.
