Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide. The 34-year old actor was found hanging from the ceiling at his Bandra residence in Mumbai, this Sunday afternoon. This has come as a shock to the whole Bollywood fraternity and to his fans.
No note has been found to affirm that it was a suicide. His ex-manager, Disha Salian, was reported to have committed suicide on June 9 by jumping off the 14th floor of her apartment in Mumbai’s Malad. Here too, no suicide note was recovered and investigations are currently on.
He started his career with Star Plus’ Kis Desh Mei Hai Mera Dil and gained popularity through his Zee TV’s ‘Pavitra Rishta’. He debuted in Bollywood with ‘Kai Po Che’ and went on to win the awards for the Best Actor (Critics) for his portrayal of MS Dhoni in the latter’s biopic.
His last successful venture being Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore where he played the role of an engineering student. Ironically, he talks about suicide in the film. He says, “Hum haar jeet, success failure mein itna ulajh gaye hai … ki zindagi jeena bhool gaye hai … zindagi mein agar kuch sabse zyada important hai … toh woh hai khud zindagi.”
Dil Bechara’ was the last project of his and was set to release later this year.
Sushant with your work and your charismatic smile you ruled our hearts. We hope you are at peace.
