After India released a new map which showed Kalapani as part of the country, Nepal has responded negatively, saying that Kalapani is a part of their country.

The Nepal Government has released a statement, saying that the media reports surrounding the map had brought its attention to the matter. A report in the local media said that the Kalapani is a part of the Darchula District of Nepal, while the Indian maps showed it as a part of the Pithoragarh district in the state of Uttarakhand.

The foreign ministry of India responded to the situation, saying, “Our map accurately depicts the sovereign territory of India. The new map has in no manner revised our boundary with Nepal. The boundary delineation excercise with Nepal is ongoing under the existing mechanism.”

The foreign ministries of both countries have been assigned the duty “to resolve the remaining border-related issues between Nepal and India in consultation with concerned technicians” according to the Nepalese Government.

There are some new changes in the new map of India. I’m the map, the Pakistan controlled Kashmir is the part of the newly created Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The map also shows Gilgit-Baltistan as a part of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
